What is Mining Lekgotla?
The Mining Lekgotla is the premier Mining Think Tank in the sector, and its footprint extends to the broader SADC region, thereby making a positive contribution to South Africa and beyond.
The Lekgotla is also a Scenario based strategic dialogue that affords a unique strategic conversation that ensures that the complexities and uncertainties that are within the mining industry surface in a manner that fosters a forward looking approach.
Furthermore, it is a platform to explore key trends and policy shifts in the mining environment.
What is the theme of the 2014 conference?
2014 marks a major milestone on the South African landscape as we celebrate 20 years of democracy. Over the past two decades the mining sector has played a pivotal role by making a meaningful contribution towards the transformation of our socio-economic landscape. Mining Lekgotla 2014 will join the rest of the country in highlighting the achievements in the sector and its theme is “BUILDING ON THE CONTRIBUTION OF MINING SINCE THE ADVENT OF DEMOCRACY”.
This year’s programme will reflect on the contribution by the mining sector to the National Development Plan and the Africa Mining Vision. It is imperative that the plans and scenarios developed by the South African mining sector is set` against the backdrop of the African Mining Vision, as set out in the document delivered by your esteemed self to the African Union.

Can I pay for my conference registration on-site?
It is possible to pay onsite, however this would result in a delay due to processing.
I want to pay, but I need a formal invoice. Can you supply one?
What is your cancellation policy?
In the event of cancellation, 50% of fees will be credited provided that fees have been paid in full and cancellation in writing is received prior to the 30th July 2014.
After 30th July 2014, no credits or refunds will be made.
Can I send someone in my place, if I am unable to attend?
Substitutions may be made, in advance or at the event with proper documentation.

When does the conference officially begin and end?
The official programme commences Wednesday, 13 August 2014 at 08:00 and ends on Thursday, 14 August 2014 at 22h00 after the Gala Dinner.

Conference registration fees include two days of presentations, exhibits, luncheons, Gala dinner attendance, refreshments and receptions.
Conference fees do not include hotel accommodation or travel arrangements.
